OBG & PAEDIATRIC LAB

The OBG &Paediatric Lab at IPSM Odisha is a specialized facility designed to equip students with essential skills in maternal, newborn, and child healthcare. This lab offers a hands-on learning environment for nursing, medical, and healthcare students, enabling them to gain practical experience in obstetrics, gynecology, and pediatric care. In the OBG &Paediatric Lab, students learn to perform critical procedures and assessments related to prenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care. They practice skills such as monitoring fetal heart rates, assisting with labor and delivery, managing complications, and providing postpartum care for mothers and newborns. The lab also covers pediatric healthcare, where students gain experience in assessing and caring for infants, children, and adolescents, addressing common pediatric conditions, administering vaccinations, and performing developmental assessments.

The lab is equipped with realistic mannequins, infant simulators, fetal monitors, and other medical equipment that simulate real-life scenarios, allowing students to practice and perfect their clinical techniques. Emphasis is placed on understanding the unique physiological, emotional, and psychological needs of mothers and children, promoting compassionate, family-centered care.
